I began working on my PPL nearly two years ago, shortly after my daughter Evelyn was conceived. I naively thought that I would manage to complete the training before her birth but failed to take into account the vagaries of Belgian weather and damnable Murphy's law. It seems to me that in life you can have time, money, and health but seldom, if ever, all three at once. So while the weather holds I'm racing to finish as best I can. The opportunity cost (not to mention the monetary cost) is high, though, as each lesson consumes a big chunk of time.
At least I have the benefit of an increased capacity for tackling longer-term side projects. Hopefully it will come out well and I'll be soaring gratefully in years to come.
